Research Scientist-Statistician

This Project Statistician position is needed to support the clinical development of late phase molecules and support of existing products within a global team. A successful candidate will be able to collaborate with physicians and medical / scientific colleagues to develop protocol designs, clinical plans, and data analysis plans. This position also includes work with observational (non-randomized) clinical research, and requires development of data analysis plans in this context. This candidate will work with statistical analysts, clinical research associates, and third party organizations to establish reporting databases, insure clinical trial and observational study data are appropriately analyzed, and collaborate with various medical colleagues to guarantee results are quickly and accurately disseminated to a variety of internal and external audiences. The development and application of advanced statistical methods will be integral to success in this position.


KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:



-Statistical Study Design and Analysis: Operate in collaboration with study personnel to provide input on study designs for randomized clinical trials and observational studies. Select statistical methods for data analysis, authoring the corresponding sections of the protocol if applicable, authoring analysis plans, and conducting / directing the conduct of the actual analysis. Maintain currency with respect to statistical methodology, to maintain proficiency in applying new and varied advanced statistical methods, and to be competent in justifying methods selected. Participate in peer-review of work products from other statistical colleagues.

-Communication of Results and Inferences: Collaborate with team members to write reports and communicate results. Assist with, or be responsible for, communicating study results via regulatory submissions, manuscripts, or oral presentations in group settings, as well as for communicating one-on-one with key customers and presenting at scientific meetings. Respond to regulatory queries and interact with regulators.

-Therapeutic Area Knowledge: Ability to develop understanding of medical aspects of therapeutic area to which assigned, in order to enhance the level of customer focus and collaboration and be seen as a strong scientific contributor.

-Regulatory Compliance: Perform work in full compliance with assigned curriculum(s) and will be responsible for following applicable Corporate, Medical, local, and departmental policies, procedures, processes, and training.


REQUIREMENTS:
-MS + 7 years experience or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics or related field.

-Proficent in SAS programming language.
