Individual responsibilities include sourcing and contracting for complex equipment service/maintenance agreements, capital equipment acquisition (i.e. RFP process) and facilities/service agreements for the site and to support implementation of site, regional, and global sourcing initiatives. Individual will work closely with different end-user groups to define sourcing requirements and scope for site operations. Individual will ensure adherence to quality, legal, and financial requirements for the procurement of any goods and services. Position requires the ability to effectively negotiate with suppliers and complete appropriate financial analysis. This position is also expected to support sourcing of direct materials.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters in Business required.
* 8 years of purchasing/contracting experience; at least 8 years of which are within Capital Projects (preferably Bio-Tech/pharmaceutical environment).
Department Specific Requirements:
* Reports to Site Head of Procurement.
* Experience with complex product and service procurement.
* Experience with supplier evaluation, certification, management and performance measurement.
* Knowledge of sources of supply and terminology used in purchasing highly technical equipment, systems and services. Knowledge of markets, market practices, pricing methods and contracts important.
* Ability to prepare complex specifications, purchasing contracts and reports required.
* Excellent interpersonal, project management and leadership skills.
* Candidate must have strong written and verbal presentation skills, excellent analytical ability, and the skill-set to work on a broad variety of assignments simultaneously.
* SAP experience is a plus.
* Experience with US government contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR's) is preferred.
