DESCRIPTION
The Department of Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism (PKDM) at Amgen, Seattle is seeking a highly qualified Ph.D. level Scientist to actively participate in the mechanistic understanding of the absorption, metabolism, disposition and excretion properties of drug discovery and development candidates in a multidisciplinary project team environment. It is anticipated that the incumbent will be responsible for summarizing experimental findings, compiling reports, and communicating scientific data to peers and project teams. Additional responsibilities will include the characterization and implementation of novel ADME reagents, the acquisition and development of new methods and technologies to study drug pharmacokinetic phenomena in vitro, evaluation and implementation of automation platforms, and the identification and establishment of external collaborations to advance ADME sciences

REQUIREMENTS:
PhD in Medicinal, Organic or Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or other scientific field, with emphasis on drug metabolism and with experience in mass spectrometry.

Preferred Qualifications:
Industrial experience in the area of Drug Metabolism and a thorough understanding of mechanistic drug metabolism and metabolite structural elucidation.
Experience in bioanalytical/biophysical method development and qualitative/quantitative analysis for metabolite structural elucidation and enzyme kinetics
Experience in in vitro metabolism with a fundamental knowledge of cytochromes P450 and/or other drug metabolizing enzymes
Understanding of pharmacokinetic principles and their application in a drug discovery environment.
Collaboration and communication skills (written and oral), experimental and problem solving skills, as well as a track record of strong initiative and follow-through are necessary.
Record of original research publications/presentations
The candidate must have the ability to work independently and be able to work in a time sensitive, fast-paced, multi-project setting.
