DESCRIPTION

OBJECTIVES: Assist in the design, data analysis, interpretation, and execution of experiments in rodents for oncology, immunology or metabolic applications. Working with senior scientific staff, the research associate will execute mechanism of action studies using novel therapeutic antibodies including comparison studies with standards and combination studies and assist in the development and execution of in vivo and in vitro models.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Contributes to the design and executes in vivo protocols for efficacy and mechanism of action studies using TSF therapeutic antibodies and standards.
* Performs studies profiling antibodies at both the in vivo and in vitro level using functional endpoints.
* Optimizes and executes techniques including ELISAs, FACS and imaging techniques for TSF projects.
* Maintains a current understanding of the literature and methodology related to specific drug discovery projects.
* Keeps organized and accurate records to support Takeda SF projects.
* Analyzes, interprets and presents experimental studies to department.
* May participate on cross-functional project teams.
* Provides support to new areas as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* B.S. in Pharmacology, Immunology/Physiology or related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience or M.S. with some relevant industry experience
* Fluent in the execution of in vivo procedures including animal handling, injections and surgery
* Willingness to work in the dynamic and changing environment of a start-up company
* Able to modify or optimize established in vivo and in vitro protocols
* Skilled in statistical analysis, graphing programs and PowerPoint presentations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, etc.)
* Carrying, handling and reaching for objects (up to 25 lbs)
* Performs job requirements in the office, lab and vivarium environment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
* Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.
