DESCRIPTION
The Demand Planner supports the day-to-day  demand control as well as the mid term (18 months) forecasting, through statistical forecast modeling, collaborative planning, effective communication, while insuring forecast alignment with strategic goals.
 
Position Responsibilities:
 
1.      Establishes a statistical baseline forecast for the following products families:

Analytical sample prep
Cell Culture systems
Sample prep & detection
Stem Cell & specialty cell Culture
Diagnostics

2.      Owner of the demand review stage of the Sales and Operation plans for his/her products families.

3.      Publishes the demand plan as well as associated metrics on a monthly basis along with identifying gaps between the sales and actual.

4.      Coordinates and updates of the demand plan with Sales, Marketing and Finance.
 
5.      Provide continuous clear communication of the forecast numbers, changes, assumptions, inputs, etc to production, sales, marketing, finance and other departments.
 
6.      Interfaces with the above functions and provides analysis as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years demand planning, forecasting and sales planning experience in areas such as Material Planning, Supply Chain, Operations, or Production Scheduling (experience in a like industry preferred).
2. Knowledge in statistical modeling is a prerequisite. (Lean Six Sigma, SPC control).
3. Requires broad knowledge of forecasting, product distribution, inventory control, manufacturing processes and master scheduling.
4. Must have a clear understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing planning and control systems.
5. Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, presentation and time management skills.
6. Must be self-motivated, willing to take risks, and comfortable participating in the decision making process for cross-functional teams.
7. Proficient skills in PC and Microsoft Office Win Project, Oracle, application.
8. A strong knowledge of a forecasting tool is a plus.
