DESCRIPTION
You will be responsible for the characterization of a silicon-based photonic device for drug screening applications.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities will involve surface functionalization and biochemical characterization of the silicon based photonics device and the integrated measurement and fluidic system around it. The integrated system is targeted to monitor small molecular interaction with drug targets, specifically in a low affinity binding assay.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements:
• PhD degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or any relevant area
• Good knowledge and track record on drug screening assay development, especially with strong experience in molecular assay
• Good knowledge of molecular interactions studies, such as high affinity or low affinity binding
• The following areas of expertise would be considered an advantage:
- Experience in assay development for novel biosensors, especially label-free photonic biosensors, Raman spectroscopy or surface plasmon resonance
- Hands-on experience in microfluidics and surface chemistry on silicon devices
- Knowledge of silicon-based device physics
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork with strong self-motivation
