DESCRIPTION
Pimary responsibilities:Without appreciable direction, responsible for directing and coordinating all activities necessary to complete a major engineering project or several small projects.
* Apply specialized theoretical knowledge in a creative way to a broad range of difficult problems.
*Provide technical expertise and direction to lower level engineers and other technical personnel, and may be responsible for the administrative duties of a small work group, although engineering work performed is more important than the supervisory aspect.
* Generate and leverage existing and new intellectual property for new therapy and/or clinical use.
* Communicate key information and recommendations to influence technical decisions and strategy (i.

* Define new and existing engineering design requirements and develop specifications in accordance with manufacturing, marketing, and customer expectations and requirements.
* Identify and analyze design problems to achieve optimal solutions that satisfy cost and technical requirements using both internal and external technical resources.
* Formulate new, innovative approaches to solve technical problems on a consistent basis.
* Create and communicate project plans, tasks and deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines.
* This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones through clear, concise oral and written communications.
* Champion Six Sigma and process improvements that impact the business.
* Engage in personal and continuing program of learning in order to broaden engineering knowledge and to gain knowledge in new areas in order to improve individual effectiveness and to avoid technical obsolescence.
*Essential functions:Possess expertise in two or more of the following technical areas: surface science, capillary flow (flow in porous media), heat transfer, mass transfer, biomaterials, or flow of rheologically complex fluids.

* A minimum 13-17 years of Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering experience.

* A minimum 11-15 years of Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering experience.
