GENERAL SUMMARYThe Director, Business Technology Architecture is responsible for;? Performing the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to develop an ImClone business technology architecture (BTA).? Guiding the ImClone IT organization in the implementation and adoption of service oriented architecture (SOA), business intelligence and web development platforms.? Delivering business value through information technology solutions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDefine ImClone's solution portfolios and ensure they are managed for business intelligence, service-oriented architecture and web development. Communicate solution portfolios to the ImClone organization. Ensure the ImClone solution portfolio is aligned with Lilly corporate direction.Consult with internal IT stakeholders to harmonize systems and/or infrastructure with the BTA. Identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate business process, strategy and project needs.Develop road maps describing the evolution of all BTA solution portfolios from current state to future state.Build financial plans support the migration path. Manage projects to implement solutions in the portfolio. Manage internal and external service providers during the design, implementation and maintenance of the BTA portfolio.Build relationships with IT and business peers to understand their functional needs. Work with each organization to ensure the business technology environment is positioned to respond. Utilize peer leadership skills and competencies to influence the enterprise to leverage the BTA.Work closely with the IT Business Office to ensure alignment of plans (including migration plans and road maps) with what is being delivered (projects).Ensure SDLC deliverables include reference to BTA usage and consideration.Ensure the portfolio of solutions defined by the BTA are implemented in a manner compliant with all relevant regulations (ie: 21 CFR Part 11, Sarbanes Oxley, GxP, ImClone and Lilly corporate policies, etc?)Analyze enterprise business context (internal and external trends and business strategy), as well as change requirements in other technology areas (infrastructure, security, network etc.) to derive the BTA change requirements and guide solution decisions for the enterprise.Participate in external forums, conferences and other venues to keep abreast of technology trends. Identify trends which align with ImClone business strategy and can contribute to business value drivers.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, EXPERIENCEo Experience managing or executing the selection, architecting, and implementation of standards-based connectivity and integration SOA technologies.o Experience managing an application development team in a .NET (C#, VB, ASP, with Visual Studio) environment.o Experience managing standards-based web development using ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, AJAX and JavaScript as well as web services standards.o Experience being the liaison between the application development/integration staff and internal (functional) and external (vendor, consultant) business partners.o Ability to anticipate and address technical compatibility issues across a variety of platforms (ie. browsers, database, operating systems etc.)o Knowledge of security standards and techniques for SOA environments and web applications.o Experience in the management of a development team in an SDLC, best practice context.o Expertise in the design, implementation, and deployment of user-centric solutions, with focus on interface, usability and securityo Solid development management experience in following areas: Web Services, SOAP, LDAP, XML, and SQL.o Solid development management experience with: Oracle and SQL Server and the selection and implementation of ETL and data modeling tools.o Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and must be comfortable providing leadership and guidance for technical staff.o Strong experience managing the creation of collaboration solutions and intranet portals using MOSS 2007.o Strong experience managing the building of features and web parts for MOSS 2007.o SharePoint Object Model, InfoPath, Windows Workflow Foundation and SharePoint Features.o Integrating SharePoint site/apps with other corporate data sources and applications.o At least 10-12 years IT experience, 5-7 managing an application development team; 3-5 years managing or implementing a SOA, business intelligence and/or web development environment.o Life sciences experience across multiple functional areas and business processes is required.
