Sales/Business Development Specialist EASTERN North America-900510

To support strong growth, Merck Chimie S.A.S., subsidiary (pers 63) of the German group MERCK (EMD in North America) is recruiting a Sales/Business Development Specialist responsible for maintaining existing business and promoting territory growth by uncovering new in-vitro and research opportunities based on the use of Estapor® Microspheres.

Estapor® is a leading raw material manufacturer of latex particles which originated as Rhone-Poulenc in the early 1950's. We supply our beads to the top ten in-vitro diagnostic companies world wide. In addition to our catalog products we offer custom product development services. Estapor has 19 patents and continues to file more through our continued product development.

As the Sales and Business Development Specialist, you will market our latex microspheres (high technology tools for the clinical diagnostic and biotechnology markets) for our Eastern North America Customers.
You will develop your territory by identifying any commercial opportunities requiring technological development using latex microspheres. Attendance at professional events, product exhibits and scientific meetings will be necessary as you expand your customer base. You will serve as the liaison between our R&D scientists and customers providing technical support throughout your customer's project development. As the manager of your territory you will be responsible for providing customer pricing, inventory availability and new product feasibility.


REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and/or Biochemistry including 3 years experience in a technical capacity working as a researcher or manufacturer and sales experience working for a manufacturer. You must have a clear understanding of scientific applications in immunology and molecular biology from both the protein and nucleic acid perspectives. Experience in sales, customer service and or a project management role where you were responsible for setting customer expectations, coordinating meetings across departments (i.e. R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) providing technical input and meeting required deadlines. You must be highly motivated, comfortable working autonomously, well organized and have strong customer support skills. You are fluent in English and able to travel for Business trips in Europe. Some speaking knowledge of French would be helpful, but not essential.
