Report Shows Medical Device Jobs Down in Bay State

In a week filled with news about the successes of the bioscience industry, thanks to the BIO International Convention here in Boston, a not-so-bright spot may be in medical devices - at least according to one report. The Battelle/BIO State Bioscience Industry Development report was released Monday, touting the overall strength of the sector. The data show that over the last 10 years, as the global economy has struggled, the bioscience industry grew by 6.4 percent, adding more than 96,000 jobs. That’s far better than the rest of the private sector in the U.S., where jobs fell by 2.9 percent.
