PediaVision Assessment Solution to Be Demonstrated at Future of Pediatrics Conference Feb. 27 - March 1 in Anaheim

2/23/2009 10:58:10 AM

LAKE MARY, FL--(Marketwire - February 23, 2009) -

PediaVision today announced it will demonstrate its state-of-the-art PediaVision Assessment Solution (PAS) at the Future of Pediatrics Conference Feb. 27 - March 1 in Anaheim, CA. The PAS is a revolutionary vision screening solution that assists Pediatricians in the detection of refractive errors, amblyopia, strabismus, anisocoria, and media opacities. Made publicly available in October 2008, the PediaVision Assessment Solution is already in use in 15 states and growing rapidly.

With the overall goal of improving child and adolescent health, the Future of Pediatrics Conference is an American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)/American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) conference that brings together Pediatricians from around the world to learn current information on clinical and practice management topics. The conference focuses on strategies to advance medical homes and build partnerships within communities.

PediaVision will demonstrate the PediaVision Assessment Solution (PAS) at exhibit # 10 during the conference.

The only binocular vision screening device that produces highly accurate, immediate results, the PediaVision Assessment Solution (PAS) is effective for screening children of any age, especially pre-verbal children. The software produces a recommendation as to whether or not a subject should be referred to an eye care specialist.

"The PediaVision system, powered by Plusoptix, is a fast and child-friendly system. The computer allows the user to upgrade referral criteria as needed and facilitates future exams for patients within a pediatric practice. Parents love the immediate, sophisticated results. The computer interpretations assist follow-up doctors in determining correct therapy for the referred patients," said Robert Arnold, MD of the Alaska Blind Child Discovery Program and member of the Vision Screen Committee for the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).

"Parents look to their Pediatrician for early health assessments and trust their physician to thoroughly evaluate and identify any problems from birth," PediaVision's CEO David Melnik added. "Pediatricians now have the tool they need for highly accurate, early vision assessment."
