Mammograms Have "Limited or No Effect" on Breast Cancer Deaths, Journal of The National Cancer Institute Reveals

The defensive role mammogram screening plays in the early stages of breast cancer has been disputed by Swedish researchers. According to an analysis of cancer mortality statistics, mammography screenings have a limited (if any) effect on the number of deaths. The study published in the Journal of The National Cancer Institute examined whether higher levels mammogram screenings for women aged 40-69 over past decades have saved lives.
