Alere Inc. (ALR) Recalls 897,000 Heart Attack, Drug Test Kits

Quality control issues have forced medical diagnostics company Alere Inc. to recall 897,000 individual tests used to detect heart attacks and drug use, the company said today in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Alere has begun an additional recall of its Triage meter-based products as a result of “continuing inspection” by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
